Herdade da Comporta is one of the most important tourist projects in Portugal. This project was conceived from a rigorous Global Programme of Sustainable Development, which forms the basis for an integrated development of the entire Estate.
The tourism benefits are based primarily within two Tourism Development Areas (Comporta Links and Comporta Dunes) located in Grândola and Alcácer do Sal constituencies. These Areas are characterized by low construction density, with an emphasis on sport activities, health and centres of well-being.
These benefits are complemented by the existence of the surrounding seven villages, as well as projects such as re-qualification of the coastal area and beaches, eco tourism plans and cultural initiatives.
Herdade da Comporta´s Global project is characterized by its appreciation of nature and for its respect for local communities.
